10 Day Challenge: Day 2

Hello Lacquer Luvers & welcome to Day 2 of the 10 Day Challenge! Today's post is all about RAINBOW NAILS! My mani was inspired by Liz of Nothing But Nail Polish & Amber of Rainbows&Sparkles. They both did this mani (or their own take on it) & I loved it so much I just HAD to do it for today's challenge!

To begin my mani, I used one coat of OPI Nail Envy and 2 coats of Bettina Matte which is a great white cream polish. For my rainbow, I chose to do a gradient using Yellow, Sherbet, Pink Bikini, Mojito, Purple, & Over Dyed. All of these polishes are by Bettina & I used a sponge tip eyeshadow applicator to create my rainbow gradient.

After my gradient dried, I water marbled over it using Bettina Onix & French 3. The french polish is sheer enough to allow the rainbow gradient peek through the marbling. Cool, right?! =)

This last photo shows you all of the Bettina pretties that were used to create this Rainbow manicure. L-R: French 3, Matte, Yellow, Sherbet, Pink Bikini, Mojito, Purple, Over Dyed, & Onix.

So, what do you ladies think of my RAINBOW NAILS? Lacquer Luvers, don't forget that I have a partner in crime with this challenge, the lovely Ms. Kelly from Posh For Polish, so please go take a look at her rainbow nails and let her know what you think! As always, I hope you all liked this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing tomorrow's post with you, xo!

10 Day Challenge: Day 1

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Before I share my post today with you all today, I just want to wish my son, Tyus, a very Happy 6th Birthday! <3

Today starts the 1st day of the 10 Day Challenge I will be doing with Kelly from Posh For Polish. Each day we will both be working together and showing our lovely readers our creations for the challenge! Today is Day 1: Pink Nails.

One of my most favorite pinks would have to be Zoya Barbie. Barbie is a soft baby pink full of hot pink shimmer. I really wish the sun was out when I took these pics, it was still early in the morning.

Today's mani begins with a base of OPI Nail Envy and 3 coats of Zoya Barbie. For nail art, I decided to use another great pink from Zoya, Areej. Areej is a nice warm fuchsia cream. She worked great for stamping on this leopard/cheetah print from Konad's image plate M57. This mani was topped off with a fast dry top coat from Seche Vite.

I really love this color combo & I'm glad the sun came out so that you girls could get a better color accurate picture of Barbie. What do you girls think of my pink mani? Lacquer Luvers, don't forget to check out Kelly's Pink Nails & again, Happy Birthday to my sweet son Tyus! As always, I hope you all liked this post my dear Lacquer Luvers and I look forward to sharing tomorrow's post with you, xo!

Tag: 14 Random Questions

Hello Lacquer Luvers! I was tagged in a post over at Miss Lizzy O.'s blog, Do It Yourself, Lady... and thought this was great since I am just starting out with my blog and you girls can get to know a bit more about me =)

1. Theatre or cinema? Why?
I'll go with cinema since I haven't been to a live show in so long. The last movie I saw was Immortals & the last theatre show was West Side Story.

2. If you had to choose whether to invest your money into a great concert or some kind of commodity, which one would you choose?
Well, Merriam-Webster defines commodity as an economic good. Umm, does an iPad count for this? I'd pick that over a concert lol!

3. The most memorable concert you've ever attended?
I went to alot of concerts with my friend Kelly back in high school and college, I'd have to say Jay-Z & Friends was a great one! Good times, good times!

4. A movie or tv-series that always cheers you up?
I live for Comedy Wednesday & Modern Family! I wish this was a daily series instead of weekly, love it!

5. Nightstand book of the moment?
The Bible is on my nightstand. I have books I never get around to reading. I should pick that back up.

6. A Movie that you last saw?
Went to celebrate the Hubby's birthday this week and saw Immortals with him =)

7. How much do you follow trends?
Fashion trends? I wear what I want & how I feel that day but I am usually quite casual. I do like to see what is new out there, though. As for nails, I am always trying to stay in the know with the newest collections. Polish is my fashion!

8. Something that has been a hobby of yours for a long time
I like to make scrapbooks & take tons of photos of my family!

9. A drink that goes with a cozy evening?
Nothing like a hot cup of cocoa and marshmallows..add in some crushed peppermint and I'm in heaven!

10. Do you laugh a lot?
I do! My son always keeps me laughing! <3

11. If you could choose a decade to live in which one would it be? Why?
I would choose the 1940's because I love Victory Roll hairstyles, I really like vintage cars & clothing, too!

12. Is there a TV-show you watch regularly? If so, which one?
I watch the news every night..I know..lame..lol!

13. Would you prefer a lying-on-the-beach-vacation or a vacation full of sightseeing?
I could live my life at the beach. I mean..

Doesn't get much better than that, right?

14. An idealistic climate for you?
I want to live somewhere where I can get all 4 seasons, I do love Miami though..minus the humidity!

Let's go to the Disco Dolls!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today's post is all about glitterrr! I'm sharing swatch pics of Disco Dolls, a truly spectacular glitter bomb, with you all today. Disco Dolls is part of Nicole By OPI's newest holiday collection, KardashianKolor. This collection has 14 shades and were inspired by the Kardashian's, Disco Dolls is one of Khloe's shades. This polish is a base of gold micro glitter and a bit of silver micro glitter along with larger round glitters that are green, blue, pink, orange, silver, and gold. As Khloe said this gold glitter “looks like a disco ball exploded…"

For this mani, I began with a base of OPI Nail Envy and 3 coats of Disco Dolls. Most glitters are topcoat hogs and this is no exception. I used 3 coats of my top coat by Color Club. I love the way this baby sparkles! Disco Dolls is a truly unique shade in my collection and I think this is so perfect for the holiday season. This last pic shows you how sparkly she is even in the shade.

What do you think of this shade ladies? Have you picked up any of the KardashianKolor's? I hope you all like this post my dear Lacquer Luvers & I look forward to sharing tomorrow's post with you, xo!

Meet Zoya Melodie

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today's post features the lovely Zoya Melodie, an amazing shimmering nude. Zoya describes Melodie as "Pink-toned light creamy brown nude neutral with a sprinkling of fine silver glitter. A truly unique and interesting way to wear nude." and I could not explain her any better!

For this mani, I began with a base of OPI's Nail Envy. I used 3 coats of Zoya Melodie to achieve full opacity. One of the things I love most about Zoya's polishes are the quality of their formula. They always go on so smoothly. As you can see in the next two photos, the sprinkling of fine silver glitter in this nude is really what makes this so special.

I just love that shimmer!! It's pretty, isn't it? For my design, I used E.L.F. nail polish in Chocolate, a rich brown, to stamp on an image from plate M79 by Konad. I topped off this mani with my fast dry top coat by Seche Vite. I really like this design. It's simple and chic and I thought it went well with Melodie.

What are your favorite Zoya's? Are you ladies getting any of Zoya's newest neutrals from their just released Winter Feel Collection? I hope you all like this post my dear Lacquer Luvers & I look forward to sharing tomorrow's post with you, xo!

Finally Found Fowl Play!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today I have a beautiful polish to share with you, it is Orly Fowl Play. Orly released their Birds of a Feather Collection back in September and it contains 6 gorgeous shades ranging from cremes to incredibly shimmering & iridescent colors. This collection was inspired by nature and beautiful flocks of birds and their lovely feathers.

I have been searching high and low for this collection since it's release and had absolutely no luck. I went to my local Sally's in hopes of finding Androgynie from their new Holiday Soiree Collection. I couldn't believe they had quite a few of them there. While waiting in line, I saw their display and a Orly Gift Set. I stepped out of line and grabbed it quick since it was the only one there and someone else was at the display. In the gift set, there are 3 full size polishes from the Birds of a Feather Collection, Sweet Peacock, Lucky Duck, & Fowl Play along with a cuuute purple suede wristlet that has a detachable peacock feather zipper pull. This set retails for $9.99 at Sally's.

For this mani, I started with my OPI Nail Envy base coat followed by 3 coats of Orly Fowl Play. I topped it off with my fast dry top coat by Seche Vite.

Fowl Play is a deep purple jelly that is full of goodies! It has everything in it from blue and purple glitter to silver micro shimmer. The star of this baby are the flakies which have a stunning flash that shifts from red to green  to an orange-yellow color. Truly gorgeous! I had no problems with application and thought the formula was really great.

Do any of you guys have Fowl Play? I am really loving this deep purple flakie & cannot wait to try the other colors in this set. I hope you all like this post my dear Lacquer Luvers & I look forward to sharing tomorrow's post with you, xo!
