Quite Frank(en)ly, I Love Pink Wednesday!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! It's the middle of the week and that means it's time for Pink Wednesday! This one is very very special as I have a beautiful franken that I created to share with you all as well! I really hope you enjoy this post even though it's pretty late =)

My manicure today began with a base of Milani Smoothe Base Coat followed by two coats of Zoya Barbie. Barbie can best be described as: Soft, warm medium baby pink with very subtle hot pink shimmer. An adorable girly shade to accent any outfit.

Featured in the photo above is my franken surprise for the day! I created the lovely that I am holding in my hand. I have yet to name it but it contains one of my all-time favorite color combinations: pink, black and white. This glitter topcoat is full of 2 shades of pink hexagonal glitter, black hexagonal glitter, large white hexagonal glitter and white bar glitter. All of these glitters are matte (not metallic).

I am not looking to be an indie seller (well, not anytime in the near future at least). I was just playing around with some pretty glitters and I adore the combo that I came up with. I like that the bar glitter is not overwhelming and that they actually lay flat. I hope to make a few more frankens in the future. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this one and if you have any name suggestions I'm all ears (well, eyes!). It's Pink Wednesday!!!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! It's the middle of the week and that means it's PINK WEDNESDAY! Today I have a post for you all with a color that I used in a water marble before. I'm using one of the polishes Ty gifted me for Valentine's Day, Sinful Colors Oasis. I hope you all are ready for a pretty pink mani =)

My mani today began with a base of Essie Grow Faster followed by two coats of Sinful Colors Oasis. Oasis is a vibrant shade of pink that has some purple shimmer throughout it which gives it some depth. This color is really pretty and you can't beat the fact that it's easy to find at Walgreens for $1.99, right? The formula is good, I got away with opaqueness at just two coats & I really like Sinful's brushes.

Next I applied one coat of this Prisma Luminous Color polish over Oasis. This lovely has no name and although I do not have it, I believe it may be a dupe (or close enough) to OPI's Teenage Dream. I got this in a pack of 7 at Ross for $5.99. It's a clear base with varying sizes of glitter that are pink, silver, and larger pieces of holographic glitter. This lovely is great for layering.

For nail art I went and stamped two different flower images on my nails from the first set of plates by Bundle Monster. I used BM06 on my pinky, middle, and thumb fingers & BM03 on my ring and index fingers using Konad Special Stamping Polish in white. I topped this mani off with a coat of Good To Go by Essie.

I think this mani is cute and appropriate for Spring. I realized after reading a few other blogs that I haven't done a first day of Spring mani. A Little Raspberry Jelly for Pink Wednesday!

Hello Lacquer Luvers & Happy Pink Wednesday to you! Today I have a special post because it includes two firsts for me. I have my first jelly sandwich mani to share with you all annnnd I made my first jelly franken! I'm so excited about this mani and love how it turned out so let's get to it!

My manicure today began with a base of Essie Grow Faster followed by three coats of Color Club Raspberry Rush. Raspberry Rush is a scented polish that is part of Color Club's Wicked Sweet Collection. I was fortunate enough to win this collection on Color Club's facebook page last summer during their Fourth of July nail art contest. Of the Wicked Sweet polishes I've tried thus far, this one is my favorite! It smells incredibly yummy! The application and formula was nice, too.

You can't have a jelly sandwich mani without some glitter, right? For those of you who don't know what a jelly sandwich manicure is, it's basically a layer of glitter with a jelly polish on top. For my glitter, I used Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter. Pinky Glitter is a sheer pink base full of iridescent glitters.

Next I layered two coats of my jelly franken which I named Raspberry Jelly over Pinky Glitter. I created this franken by filling up an empty nail polish bottle with 3/4 of WetNWild Fast Dry Topcoat and 1/4 of Color Club's Raspberry Rush. This jelly over Pinky Glitter gives it such a squishy look. I love, love, LOVE this! I topped my manicure off with Color Club's clear top coat.

I am really happy with how my first jelly sandwich mani came out and my first jelly franken. I can't wait to try more of these! So luvs, what do you all think of this manicure? Happy Pink Water Marble Wednesday!

Hello Lacquer Luvers & Happy Pink Wednesday to you all! I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day yesterday & if you didn't I hope today is a much better one for you =) I got the best gift ever from my husband, Ty. He did so good! Below is a picture of part 1 of my gift. He got me a dozen polishes!

I thought that was it (and totally more than I thought he would get me) but he came home with a part 2 which was lilac roses and chocolates. It really was a special day for me! Since today is Pink Wednesday, I used two of the pretties he got me yesterday for today's manicure. Let's get to it, shall we?

My mani today began with a base of Essie's Grow Faster followed by 3 coats of China Glaze Naked. Naked is a rosy pink that has pink and silver micro-shimmer in it. This shade was not as opaque as I would have liked so it took 3 coats to reach full opacity. However, application and formula was very smooth & dry time was average.

See the micro-shimmer, pretty isn't it? For nail art I wanted to do a water marble & thought that Sinful Colors Oasis would be a great choice since it was a darker shade of pink than Naked is. It also shares the same shimmer quality that Naked contains in that it has purple iridescent shimmer throughout it. I used Jordana's Barely Pink so that Naked would still peep through the sheerness of Barely Pink. This manicure was topped off with Essie's Good To Go topcoat.

I love how this came out! I think the two pinks work really nicely together. What do you think Lacquer Luvers? Oh Baby, I Lily Love You!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! I have a very very special Pink Wednesday post for you all today! I have been waiting a while to share the news but am beyond excited to announce that I am going to bring a beautiful bundle of joy into the world in August!!! We are overjoyed by this news & I wanted to share it with you all, my luvs! =)

Gahhhh!! =D Okay, okay..now that I've got it out of my system, on to my Pink Wednesday manicure. Today's manicure features two polishes by O.P.I. I began today's mani with a base coat of Essie Grow Faster. Next I applied three coats of O.P.I.'s Kinky In Helsinki which is from their 2002 European Collection and was re-released in their 2009 Colorcopia Collection. I won this polish and 5 others in a giveaway O.P.I. had on their facebook page last year. This shade can best be described as a pearly fuchsia with blue duochrome. Formula was great and dry time was average.

Ooooh look at the blue duochromey-ness (yes, I just made this word up)! It kind of looks like it glows, doesn't it? Such a gorgeous shade!

Next I layered one coat of O.P.I. I Lily Love You over Kinky In Helsinki. I Lily Love You is from their Summer 2011 collection, Nice Stems! This baby is a sheer pink base full of fun! It has a variety of glitter and flakes in it: opalescent mylar flakes/shards, opal glitter, and iridescent square, circle, & hexagonal glitter. My only problem with this pretty was that the mylar flakes/shards were a bit difficult to apply. Some of them refused to lay flat but I managed to get them down using the end of a toothpick. I finished this manicure using Essie Good To Go top coat.

This combination looks like a pink party on my nails! And with good reason to celebrate with the announcement of my pregnancy, right? =) Do any of you have these polishes? ~*Pink Wednesday*~

Hello Lacquer Luvers! I hope you all are having a great week so far. I must say, I am in a GREAT mood today! It is Wednesday and you all know what that means - pink, pink, pink!! =)

I began my manicure today with a base of Essie Grow Faster. Once dry, I applied three coats of Island Fuchsia by Jordana. I LOVE this pink! It is a lovely shade that leans a bit towards a dusty purple. This pretty has opalescent shimmer in it that is just so much fun to look at. The formula for this polish is
great! I could've gotten away with two coats, however, Last Chance (the green I reviewed in yesterday's post) stained my nails so bad that I had to use 3 coats to cover it up.

Ooooh the shimmerrrr!! For nail art, I used a pretty flower design from BundleMonster's image plate BM221. I used my white Konad Special Stamping Polish for this design.

I can't tell you how much I love this manicure! The name Island Fuchsia & this particular design really compliment eachother. It gives off one of those tropical Hawaiian shirt vibes. Pink Wednesday & My Franken

Hello Lacquer Luver's & welcome to another Pink Wednesday! Today I have a pretty pink mani to share with you as well as two other goodies: a franken I made & a nail polish ring. I'm really quite fond of them both and am so excited to hear what you all think of them so let's get on to the pics, shall we?

Today's manicure began with a base coat of OPI Nail Envy. I chose Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hot Magenta for my pink today. Hot Magenta can best be described as a hot pink polish with subtle shimmer and blue undertones. The blue undertone in this is really really beautiful in the sun. The formula on this is great, it applies very nicely and needed two coats to reach full opacity. The brush on the SHXW line bottles can be a bit wide for some people, but for me, I like it. Dry time on this polish was average and although it doesn't dry super shiny there isn't an absolute need for top coat either.

To make my mani more interesting, I went ahead and layered on one coat of my franken polish. This is a polish I made just before the holiday's. It's absolutely gorgeous layered over pinks and is incredibly stunning over darker colors like black. I don't know the exact measurements of product used to create this as I honestly just did it on a whim and mixed/poured until my bottle was full. The bottle was about 1/5 full with LA Colors Nail Hardener. I began to pour in a bit of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter (a pink tinted base with iridescent glitter), Jordana INCOLOR Girl's Night Out (a sheer, virtually clear, polish full of pink shimmer) & some of WetNWild's clear top coat.

Pretty right? My one gripe about this over this particular pink is that you can barely pick up on the pink shimmer since it kind of just blends right in. However, as I mentioned before, this is really gorgeous over dark colors like black. I made a polish ring using my franken and WetNWild's Ebony Hates Chris. Now you get to see all the yummy pink shimmerrrrrrr!

In the last photo you can REALLY see the pink shimmer. I absolutely adore it! It's just so sparkly, so unexpected, so ME! What do you think ladies? Like it, love it, hate it? It's Pink Wednesday!

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today is Pink Wednesday and I'm so happy about that because I get to take a break from the holiday mani's! Don't get me wrong, I love doing them but it's nice to do something different every now and then. So let me show you what I've done for today's Pink Wednesday manicure.

For my manicure today, I started off with a base of Nail Envy Maintenance by OPI. I chose Yum Gum by Color Club for my base color and applied two coats of it to reach full opacity. Yum Gum is from Color Club's Wicked Sweet Collection. This collection consists of 6 neon candy colored shades that are scented. I won this entire collection over the summer through a contest on Color Club's Facebook page. Yum Gum is a pretty neon pink (much brighter than my camera could capture) and the scent reminds me of the Bazooka Joe bubblegum I used to love as a kid. The formula was a bit on the thick side but very manageable.

I wanted to do a fun monotone manicure and used another pink polish for my design. Cream Pink by Sinful Colors is a bright pink polish. Contrary to the name, this isn't a cream at all. This lovely pink has golden shimmer throughout it that is really quite beautiful. I used this color on BundleMonster's image plate BM223 and stamped a zebra print on my nails. I used Color Club's clear top coat to finish this off.

I am totally loving this look! It has so many components of things I love: monotones, pink, and animal print. Love, Love! The one thing I am not liking is having to take this off so that I can do tomorrow's manicure. So ladies, is this a manicure you would wear? I know it may be a little loud for some but I'm one of those people that love bright colors. After all, I'm in SoFlo where color is king in this tropical paradise. Pink Wednesday

Hello Lacquer Luvers! Today I have my first Pink Wednesday manicure for you all. Three amazing nail bloggers, Colour Coated, Glitta Gloves, & Life and Polish got together and created Pink Wednesdays after their love for the movie Mean Girls. In the movie, "The Plastics" wear pink on Wednesday's and though none of the bloggers are mean, they took this idea and made it their own by wearing pink nails on Wednesdays. I just had to join in on this since pink is one of my favorite nail colors!

Today's manicure began with one coat of OPI Nail Envy. I chose OPI DS Reserve for my first Pink Wednesday manicure. OPI's Designer Series line are 3-free (free of DBP, Toluene, & Formaldehyde) and formulated with diamond dust. DS Reserve is an incredibly gorgeous vintage pink holographic polish that applies very smoothly and is completely opaque in just two coats. I used Seche Vite fast dry top coat to top my pretty pink mani off. The holographic particles in Reserve make me want to call this one My Private Jet's pink little sister.
